I think I like AYE more than EL. Electric might have higher highs but it definitely have lower lows. I can’t listen to AYE and and Axis without skipping all the way through o long drives. I bave to set playlists for EL.. My favorite tunes Are You Experience, wait until tommorow, somewhere, machine gun and pali gap.
Yeah I know exactly how you feel, I think for all of us who've fallen in love with the music and artistry and then chased those tunes there's definitely a shared discovery of what's even possible with the instrument beyond the basics. For me it was like an entire re-learning of the instrument, I actually started with classical guitar age 4 and got into Hendrix around the same time I first moved into contemporary music. I had to almost forget a lot of what I'd learned because I was so rigid and formal, technically proficient sure, but lacking in style. Hendrix and that merging of melody and rhythm and harmony and then learning to sing whilst I played as the lead actually completely changed my life. Cool to find other guitarists out here in the CF space.
That’s crazy, so you’ve had a good basis on music theory, I always wish I grew up with that. Classical is very hard. Feel like it would have unlocked things so much more. The worst advice I got early on was just “feel it out” Took lessons when I was 17 and it helped with the structure etc.
I think overall favourite songs for me would be Red House, Fire, Little Wing, Crosstown Traffic, Have You Ever Been, Spanish Castle Magic. Though ask me again tomorrow and that's always subject to change. A Hendrix for every mood as it were.
I think Classical training has it's uses, it definitely helped when I was doing session work when I was younger, but I do think just playing with other musicians does more. I was somewhat of a child prodigy tbh, I play 13 instruments (guitar being the main one) and in classical grades here it goes up to 8, I got my grade 8 guitar age 14 and grade 8 music theory age 16 before getting a scholarship based entirely on being a musician. Wish I did it more tbh, last decade or so it's mostly fallen by the wayside as the non music career became more of a focus. As much as I did love making money from music for a long time, I never did it as anything other than a hired hand/session player and tbh touring is actually awful.
Do you mean Rockets would take the 3 seed if they can catch Denver? I didn’t understand the part about catching Denver but ending up #6. Denver can fall no lower than 5th. And Minnesota can climb no higher than 5th. the only way Houston falls to 6th is, if they lose out and Minnesota wins out. Denver would still be ahead of both even if they lost their final three.
Sorry. My bad. I meant the Rockets could end up #3, which is how the T-Wolves end up being the 1st round opponent instead of the Lakers.
It feels like I'm the only ''guitarist'' who don't listen / play Hendrix songs. I just downpick James Hetfield's riffs with my right hand as a lefty, LOL. Does this count?
Definitely counts, i was usually playing Kirk's parts whilst my best bud did your/James's part. Awesome.
