12 games down. 150 games left. They need to score 6+ and probably 8+ today with Javier on the mound. I would like to see: Yordan get a hit Altuve return to taking pitches Yainer have a hard hit ball Paredes get a couple extra base hits. And I would REALLY like to see Cristian have a quality start. Maybe the Colorado air helps his fastball return to glory?
Javier, Burrows, and Abreu must perform better if Houston is going to win enough games without Brown and Hader to stay in position to be deadline buyers. A 6 inning gem from Javier closed out by a clean inning from Abreu today would be just what the doctor ordered. I won’t be holding my breath.
Agreed. I would settle for: Javier: 5 innings 3 or fewer runs. Blubaugh: 2 good innings King: 1 good inning Abreu: 1 inning with 0 runs and no more than 1 baserunner. There is a world where Hunter, Hader, and Sousa are back before the ASB. Let's hope that happens and the team can squeak out enough wins the next 3 months.
How did people feel about the Boston series? Astros are due for a stat-pad today. Javier just needs to not suck. I would take 4.1 with 2 runs, 6 Ks from him RIGHT NOW. Baby steps. Astros by 3+
There is no bigger knee jerk fan than I am, but we had a single reliable starter and he is out for two months.
Javier has looked completely cooked. Like he’s hanging on for dear life beginning with the first batter he faces. Everything makes it seem that the only way the Astros win today is 18-15 or something so maybe they'll somehow win 2-1.
They will be fine once they realize that Javier needs to be cut and ariggetti and ullola are in the rotation.
Four minutes behind... the only way this could be worse thus far -- an injury. Still scoreless though
