You're describing unilateral surrender. There's no way trump can survive a deal like that. The Israelis won't allow it

Once he realizes he's been duped again, prepare for another sneak attack betrayal by our dear leader...

In fairness - I don’t know if Vance wanted to go into Iran at all. Having said that, when this was all being discussed 6 weeks ago, I made the point that when it comes to “war”, if we are going to do it - the commitment needs to be there for a long term invasion, occupation and rebuilding of the country. That means a 30+ year time period. The USA hasn’t had the appetite for that since WWII. The USA has “lost” wars because they lack the commitment. The fact that the decision was made to do this, without any long term willingness to make sacrifices and be disciplined is criminal. The blood of Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan and Iran is on our hands because we committed enough to kill some “foreigners” but not to really cause any positive change.

I’m not saying we should have attacked Iran- I think it was a mistake after 25 years of war and it was tome death to the American
i am not defending the Iranian regime. Saber rattling is nothing new for Iran, Israel or now the United States.

My question is simple - why do US political leaders on both sides of the aisle care more about Israel and Israeli interests, than they do their best interest of the American people?

We have now fought Iraq and Iran, which were not a viable threat to the US people - but were the top two targets of Israeli interests.

Why are we sending billions of dollars every single year to a country that has a higher standard of living than the majority of America? Why do we have the leader of Israel meeting with the US President every 3 months? Why is he addressing Congress? Why are we supporting a regime that is actively taking land from others? Please explain to me how that benefits Americans? How does increasing budget spending to pay for wars for Israel (Iraq and Iran) and cutting benefits for US tax payers a benefit for the USA?

I don’t expect you to answer and it’s really not directed at you only - Americans just need to think about it.

As for saber rattling being nothing new - great, now we are on par with two of the least popular countries in the world.

I don’t think there’s any intention of honoring this deal. Let’s see.

    ****ing loser.

The strait was open before he decided to play GI Joe at the urging or Israel and LOST ground. He has LESS than he had before he attacked.

This guy is an embarrassment. If you are going to play the amoral strong man act, you need to at least “win”.

How do you have have the most wealthy and powerful army in the world and lose to a bunch of fundamentalist goat humpers that their own people hate.

This is beyond cringe. He and his unqualified Secretary of War are the epitome of ineffective and sad failure.

I winced at Obama and his line in the sand in Syria comments to Russia - but this is a million times worse. This is the biggest cuck in modern geo political dealings. Can’t do anything well.

    Just disgusting.

Nook he just agreed on giving Iran control of the strait of hormuz which will give the regime 50 billion dollars in free cash flow every year. Imagine if a democratic admin did that what the reaction would be from MAGA

No POTUS can commit to that, given their short terms, and even if they could, there is no way the American people would agree to it. So, while I get what you are saying, I think it's moot. And that's a good thing. We should never waste 30+ years on something that is an elective war. The only time we do something like that is if we are directly under attack - we would defend forever (just like the Viet Cong, the Taliban, and the Iranians would do so).

Vance is an opportunist who would turn around and abandon all previous principles or statements. He's not even around today because he doesn't want to be associated with this war.

He literally did this same thing to this same country and the same regime.

The Iranians have to be humoring him knowing he will find another way to screw up.

Drug addicts off the street would do a better job - CHAT GTP would run circles around him.

Americans are so insulated on the other side of the globe that they don’t realize how sad all of this is. Until Americans can’t afford to eat out 3-4 times a week and go on vacations every couple months, nothing will change.

That is my whole point - war for the USA should be extremely rare. There was no real will for any of our wars post WWII. The sacrifice should be sky high.

Do you think Trump will send 20k troops to secure the strait otherwise? This is a unilateral defeat for America any way you spin it. The Iranians will insist on controlling the strait in any further negotiation.

    It's game over

Iranian regime decimated (top leadership wiped out)

Iran's nuclear ambitions set back decades

Iranian military assets wiped off the map

Iran's dishonest mullahs brought to heel by the USA military

    Strait of Hormuz reopened

Stock market soaring, price of oil collapsing

    The art of the deal.

    GOOD DAY

Strait of hormuz is open by giving the Iranians 2 million dollars per vassel thus making the regime more richer than ever before and more powerful

Iranians still have the enriched uranium meaning they can make a bomb anytime. Their enrichment facilities were already destroyed last summer

US Intel still reports Iran has over half of their long range missiles

Holy **** at you dumbasses trying to spin this as anything other than a humiliating lost by Trump

Agree. We should never enter a war unless we are directly attacked or as part of NATO collective defense. I'm SOOOOO tired of elective wars and so-called pre-emptive whatever wars.

Good news that there is a ceasefire. I guess that means the US has officially ack'd the Iranian regime and regime change is out of the question.

I don't see any mention of the enriched uranium. What happened to the 970 lbs of enriched uranium that was assumed to be buried?
