The difference in our team between good Jabari and bad Jabari is crazy. When he's properly active and hitting his shots at a decent clip he's a true impact player. The frustrating thing is that one shouldn't effect the other, but for him it often does and when he's not good, which is far too often, he's a pretty significant negative overall.

He exists in a perpetual state of either 3/D player who is mediocre in both aspects or fringe all star level player. Never some consistent median, and it makes it very hard to feel any confidence in calling him a core part of anything.

Ime was calmer here than I was when Sengun thought it a good idea to take a heat check 3 in the clutch on the road in a tight game they needed to win.

 

It was even an open look, and he's been hitting those lately. Udoka's behavior here is terrible

 

Nah. Sengun had been cooking them on the interior all game and decides to take a low percentage low IQ shot. Definitely wasnt the play call and Sengun selfishly wanted "his moment" and.....well...

 

I'm not saying it was a great or even good decision to take that shot given the circumstances, but Ime's reaction was way out of proportion. A player who's been hitting threes shouldn't be berated like that for taking an open three pointer with 8s left on the shot clock.

The other thing is that it really makes me wonder what he's telling Sengun to do in practice and if the up-and-down progress toward Alpi becoming a stretch big is because Udoka gets on his case for shooting open threes in general. Maybe I'm reading too much into things though

I said it before the game started! Jabari and Reed need to have big games for the Rockets to win, both need to score 15+ ppg. Jabari had an awesome game and Reed played well in the 3rd.

Udoka treats some players differently..and it has nothing to do with their game if you catch my drift. Senguin and Sheppard come to mind. If Bob Sura was on this team he would have been a DNP
