There was a slight possibility that he would become a 8 feet tall chucker and moving away from the hoop, could very well be.... Those clutch shots are going in right now, hats off to him..... Fox trade looks like gold right now as well, who thought that Fox is just 1 guard among so many now.
Seeing the Lakers and Spurs once again begin their rise to the top of the West with top-5 players while the Rockets are sputtering back to the middle of the pack again is very depressing. This just isn’t our century.
I believe one of the reasons Yao broke down is because of his hard off-season grind every year with the Chinese national team. They didn't allow him to rest and heal.
The scariest part of the Spurs is Fox. He doesn't have to put up incredible numbers like he did in Sac-town. With Wemby as the #1 option and a team that thrives off of his every move, Fox is going to elevate his game in the playoffs. He is easily one of the fastest guards in the league, streaky and consistent (it makes sense if you look at his career pre-Spurs) and he can drop 25 to 30...if he has to... He doesn't need to do all of that, especially when guys like KJ come in and drop 18. Wemby is the star but DFox is going to be their most important player for a deep playoff run. He's been waiting to get back to the post season, and I'm sure he hasn't forgotten when he jumped the gun thinking he had the Warriors figured out. He's going to have some epic moments...and I hope the Rockets aren't anywhere near when it happens. They need to avoid San Antonio as much as Chuck avoids all "those big women in San Antonio." ( His words, not mine...I'm sure the women are lovely there lol )
There were so many clowns in the GARM last year who said Fox was no better than Fred. How clueless can anyone be?
(Right, that...) Crazy thing is Yao was legit iron man his first 3.5 seasons, played every NBA game. (Even if CNT was more obligation than "choice" ..) that speaks to his character to be there for his teams. But that led to false expectations. Once the breakdown happened, was a steep drop Seemed a lot of armchair casuals opinion at the time was still correct - "Do not do Ralph Sampson / Zdrunas Ilguaskas with Yao, do the Rik Smits plan". Wemby plays for this national teams too, at least for now. But he'll be better off if his current mpg stays consistent. Yao just missed the window of normalized NBA load management. (But CNT "load managing" though..) Ok ok, no hinting, just direct, f**k that CNT lol
